INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD APPLICATIONS
(off the job training component)
PURPOSE
This module aims to equip personnel employed on construction projects with the
knowledge and skills necessary to assist in protection of the environment whilst performing daily duties.
RELATIONSHIP TO COMPETENCY STANDARDS
Trainees must be made aware of relevant Occupation Safety and Health issues in all situations and are required to demonstrate safe working practices at all times. The work area must comply with the current Occupation Safety and Health Legislation.
PREREQUISITES
Competencies or modules required for entry into this module are:
· basic industry unit of competency appropriate to work orientation
· basic stream skills unit of competency appropriate to work orientation.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Trainees who have completed appropriate training or who, through prior learning and
experience, believe they have gained the required skill/competency stipulated for this module may be granted credit upon substantiation of that claim.
